J.P. Grant has dedicated his working life to helping people by creating environments for success. J.P.’s track record both at Grant Capital and its predecessor firm, First Municipal Credit Corporation, demonstrates his ability to lead clients to winning solutions.
He brings three decades of entrepreneurial sales and management experience as a business innovator in the lease financing industry. Prior to founding Grant Capital Management, he held positions in major account sales for IBM Corporation - Public Sector and Federal Data Corporation.
Active in the community, he has served on the boards of the Baltimore Museum of Art and the Red Cross. He has also volunteered with the Schools and Scholarship Committee of his alma mater, Harvard University, as well as the United Way. In his industry space, J.P. has worked with the Association for Governmental Leasing and Finance and the National Forum for Black Public Administrators.
Senior Vice President - Lease Financing
Vananzo H. Eaton is a proven client-service executive. He brings more than 30 years of business experience and customer relationship management, including 10 years as an entrepreneur and 20 years at the IBM Corporation consulting with state and local governments. Van holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School, and is a graduate of Morgan State University.
Vice President - Lease Financing
Derek Mitchell brings over a decade of business acumen and customer relationship management experience attained while managing various business lines within the two Fortune 500 Companies of Johnson & Johnson and Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corp. He has successfully guided multiple clients through the financing process for acquisitions of various size and scope. Derek holds an MBA from Loyola University and is a graduate of Hampton University
Assistant Vice President and Portfolio Manager and Corporate Secretary
Kimberly N. Brown has over 13 years of experience in tax exempt and commercial lease origination and administration gained while working as a portfolio manager at Grant Capital Management, SunTrust Leasing and as a credit review manager at All First Bank (now M&T Bank). She has direct responsibility for: preparation of lease contract documentation, guiding clients through the contract execution process, compliance and document archival, and private placement of leases with investors.
Director of Operations
Wendie K. Carter has over 18 years of administrative management experience gained while working for several companies in various leadership roles where she held the positions of: Leasing/Facilities Manager, Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer, and Executive Assistant to the Vice President’s of Human Resources and Sales. Wendie is directly responsible for daily operations and business administration for the firm.
